The Materials Informatics Laboratory of
Prof. Milica Todorović at the
University of Turku (FI) has opened a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher ready to start in the autumn 2025.
In this project you will be lowering the barriers for AI use by making AI tools available to scientists through a web app. You will be implementing probabilistic active learning AI with extensive data analytics into a user-friendly web interface for materials informatics. You will apply the tools to assist both academic and industrial partners develop wood-based sustainable materials. The website and training materials will help the research community worldwide to adopt AI workflows. We welcome candidates with a degree in physics, materials science, chemistry, or chemical and process engineering, who are passionate about data science and applied AI in materials research. Prior experience with materials informatics, web app development and data science is a bonus. We seek colleagues who enjoy coding, scripting and analytics, and are keen to push the boundaries of AI applications to materials design. These projects require creative thinking and programming as well as a broad understanding of physics, chemistry and engineering of materials. We further appreciate willingness to travel, teach and mentor, collaborate and communicate science. More information on the position and the
